Revitalization Loan Programs
The Zanesville Downtown Housing and Property Loan Fund
Both programs are sponsored by the Zanesville Downtown Association, 205 N. Fifth St., Zanesville, Ohio 43701, Phone (740) 454-8782 Fax (740) 454-2963.
The Revitalization Loan Program is designed to stimulate quality re-investment in the Downtown, by offering Low-Interest Financing to encourage new construction and the renovation and adaptive reuse of many of our older buildings.
The purpose of the program is to provide assistance to current and new property owners, small business owners, and downtown merchants in improving their property in a manner that is both commercially sound and architecturally attractive.
The Zanesville Downtown Housing and Property Loan Funds are targeted for properties for retail, office building, rental apartments, and mixed residential use.
Applications are available at the ZDA office.

Tax Rebates
Ordinance No. 97-227 (Amended) Introduced by Council
"That within Community Reinvestment Areas #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 tax exemptions for improvements to real property as described in Section 3735.67 of the Ohio Revised Code will be granted for the following periods only if the property application is filed with the Housing Officer within six (6) months of occupancy or final building inspection approval:
Be amended to read:
(a) Five years for the remodeling of every dwelling containing not more than two family units upon which the cost of remodeling is at least two thousand five hundred dollars as described in division A of Section 3735.67.
(b) Five year for the remodeling of every dwelling containing more than two units, and commercial or industrial properties, upon which the cost of remodeling is at least five thousand dollars as described in division B of Section 3735.67.
(c) Seven years for the construction of every dwelling, commercial or industrial structure as described in division C of Section 3735.67."
