Your Customized Directory
Listing is Free
Each member can customize their directory
listing on zmchamber.com, and its easy to
do. Simply follow the instructions
at this link and you can access your
very own directory page to enter information
about your business and add photos or
graphics. If you prefer,
you can watch this video on how to
customize and expand your listing.
So, you get a free listing in our online
directory because you are a member, but you
also get to log on and expand and customize
it to your liking. Why is this important?
Because you want to make the best first
impression you can when someone searching
the web first finds your information. And
our directory at zmchamber.com has been
searched 10,546 times in the last year, so
its worth a few minutes of your time to make
sure your online information is up to date
and customized to include an expanded
business description.
Your online directory pages have also just
been upgraded with a new look that is more
professional and looks more like a web page
for your business than simply a text
listing.
Take a look at this example and you
should see what we mean.
Don't pass up this chance to use your
chamber membership to be presented in a
first class way on a busy web site!

Rebate on Workers Comp Through
Safety Council
Thousands of Ohio employers find value and
workers' compensation premium savings by
actively participating in their local safety
councils. And you can join them. Get a
2-percent rebate on your premiums by
becoming an active member of one of 80 BWC
sponsored safety councils*.
Reduce either the severity or frequency of
injuries in your workplace by 10 percent, or
keep both at zero, and you will earn an
additional 2-percent performance bonus
rebate. BWC Safety Councils can help you:
-
Learn techniques for increasing safety
in your workplace.
-
Learn how to better manage your workers'
compensation program.
-
Network with other employers in your
community.
-
Access useful, money-saving workers'
comp and risk management information.
For more information, contact the Chamber of
Commerce at 455-8282.
You may also visit this web page
.
To qualify for the BWC Safety Council
rebate, you must meet the following
eligibility requirements:
1. Join your local safety council by July
31, 2010;
2. Attend 10 safety council meetings**;
3. Send a qualified senior-level manager to
a safety council sponsored meeting;
4. Submit semiannual workplace accident
reports for the 2010 calendar year.
Gov
*The rebate offer excludes self-insuring
employers, state agencies and employers
enrolled in BWC's group-rating and
group-retrospective programs. Limitations
apply to a professional employer
organization. BWC encourages all employers
to become active safety council members.
**At least eight through the local safety
council. You can get credit for up to two
meetings through attendance at BWC's safety
training courses or industry-specific
training.

Free Computer Training
Your business and your employees can take
advantage of FREE technology training being
offered by the Adult Center at the Mid East
Career and Technology Centers. But you have
to act quickly before the program expires.
Mid East is distributing vouchers for
training and certification testing in
Microsoft Office such as Word, Access,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft IT
certifications, and all you have to do is
sign up. The training is all offered online
by Microsoft and its retail value is
typically more than $300 per class. The
vouchers must be obtained and activated by
August 26, 2010 and the training completed
within 9 months.
For those who would like to take a Microsoft
Office certification in 2003 or 2007
software, Mid-East has free certification
exam vouchers available. The exams must be
taken by August 26, 2010 and there is a
proctoring fee of $20 per hour for each exam
taken.
This offer is part of a national Microsoft
program called "Elevate America", through
which the company has donated 60,000
training vouchers to the State of Ohio to
help prepare the workforce with the skills
needed to succeed in the 21st
century workplace. The vouchers are being
distributed through the state's network of
adult education centers such as the one
located at Mid East. The only stipulation
is that you are willing to give the required
information: name, email address, employment
status, length of employment or
unemployment, current wage, education level
attainment, age, and gender.
Time is of the essence, so area businesses
must act now to obtain a training voucher.
For more information visit
www.adultcentereducation.org or contact
