Safety Council Award Recipients 2010
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Safety Council is a division of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored in conjunction with the State of Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Division of Safety & Hygiene. It is the goal of Safety Council to increase safety awareness in the workplace. Developing and maintaining a safe workplace is no easy task and this is why it must be a combined effort of local businesses and the community. Members of Safety Council participate in an annual safety campaign in which accident statistics are used to determine eligibility for safety awards. Awards are presented to those companies with the highest safety records.
· GROUP AWARDS -given to the company that has the lowest incident rate in each group.
· 100% AWARDS – given to companies that have operated one year without a lost-time injury or illness.
· ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS – given to companies that have reduced their number of lost - time injuries by at lest 25% over the previous year.
· SPECIAL AWARDS – given to companies that have worked at least six months and at least 500,000 hours without a lost – time injury.
