6/24/10
Here are a couple of important reminders and updates for you as the Safety Council fiscal year comes to an end.
First, at this link is the record of attendance and other rebate requirements for your review. (Also at this link are explanations of all the requirements for rebate eligibility.) Please look this Excel file over and see where you stand in regard to your rebate eligibility. If we have made a mistake contact Joy Riddle at jriddle@zmchamber.com to resolve it. It is important that you review this file since it is what we will be turning in to the state to indicate who has earned the rebate.
If your company does not appear on the report spreadsheet it is likely that is because you are not rebate eligible. Remember, that changed this year with BWC rate reform. If you are also in group rating or other BWC discount programs your firm would not be eligible for the Safety Council rebate since "stacking" of discounts was eliminated this year by BWC. This report was sent to us with the list of eligible companies as identified by BWC so unless you know of some extenuating circumstances this should be the final list of those of you eligible to earn the rebate. Any company can still be a Safety Council member but you would not be receiving a rebate for doing so.
Second, if you did not turn in a first half semi annual report you may still do so and we can update that fact on the report to BWC. Remember, turning in both reports is a requirement to get the rebate. However, we need that report now since it has to be entered in the online BWC system by our staff by June 30 for you to get credit.
Third, If you have certificates to document any external trainings please get those to us now. We will update the spreadsheet record to reflect your attendance - and remember a maximum of two are allowed for credit toward the rebate.
Fourth, we will soon be sending out the semi annual report forms for the second half of the year. Please return these to us quickly so that we can enter them into the BWC online system. Please get your reports to us by July 9th.
Finally, please remember that we do not meet in July and August, even though our new fiscal year for this program begins July 1. Our next meeting will be on September 22.
Thanks and have a great summer.

Attendance Status
· As you know, there is an attendance requirement if you are pursuing the rebate for participating in Safety Council (see below for all other requirements). You must attend 10 meetings per year, and the fiscal year for this program ends June 30. Although it is up to you make sure you are meeting all rebate requirements, we will soon be posting online the spreadsheet that shows your attendance status so far this year to help you know where you stand. If you find yourself short on meeting credits, there are still ways to make it up. Attending the upcoming Ohio Safety Congress & Expo counts as one meeting credit; it is on March 30 through April 1. Also, as stated above you get a meeting credit if you attend the annual awards program, which is the Spring Break event. Also, you can get external training credits by attending training offered by the Cambridge service center of BWC. A maximum of two external trainings can be counted toward your attendance. Be sure to get a certificate and send it to us showing you participated in an external training so we can send a copy to BWC for their approval.
Second Half Reports
· If you did not send in your second half report, please still do so. It will not count toward the awards campaign, it is obviously too late for that, but it is also a requirement for your rebate eligibility and we can still record it for that purpose.
