RE:  “MEMBERSHIP FEE

The “membership fee” is calculated by the cost of the monthly breakfast times ten meeting for the year.   This fee was initiated a couple years ago when several members asked if they could pay for breakfast for the whole year all at once instead of cutting a small check each month or hassling with payment at the door.  This certainly made sense from an accounting standpoint, not only for you, but for our office administration as well.  We implemented this payment method and it has truly benefited all concerned.  We call this a “membership fee” for lack of a better term and all member companies are subject to the fee.

We will invoice all members for this “membership fee” in the amount of $110.   All member companies enrolled in Safety Council are subject to the membership fee.  Although the fee is established based on the cost of breakfast for the year, it is not tied to attendance and it is still applicable whether you attend all ten meetings or no meetings at all.  The reason for this is that meeting attendance is a requirement of being in Safety Council and therefore should not be a reason for exemption.

Payment of the membership fee will entitle one attendee from your company to attend the ten meetings that will be held from September, 2009 thru June, 2010, without additional cost for breakfast.  Companies that regularly send two representatives can prepay for two attendees in the amount of $220.    This prepayment will cover anyone attending from your company – it doesn’t matter if that person changes from month to month.   If you prepay for one attendee but want to bring a guest with you for a particular meeting – that’s OK – we’ll collect payment for that person at the door.
