ACES awards program more important than ever
The economy has been tough lately, but all that does is make the annual ACES awards program that much more important.  The ACES awards recognize business achievements, such as growth, investment, industry awards, and the like, and this year we really want to make sure we hear from you about the good things you have accomplished over the past year.  It's not easy to expand, let alone hold your own, in this economy, but we know many area businesses have done just that.  So take a look at this online nomination form and send us information about YOUR accomplishments so we can recognize you at the Spring Break event on March 19.  Remember, self nominations are encouraged and past winners are eligible every year.  The ACES awards program is sponsored by the Muskingum Growth Partnership.  Here's a list of past year's recipients for your information...look at what they did and you might get an idea for something that YOUR business did that is award-worthy.

Over 10,000 searches online for member businesses

One important benefit of chamber membership is the expanded listing you get on the Chamber's online business directory at www.zmchamber.com.  More than 10,000 people searched this directory for businesses in 2009, and member pages were viewed more than 76,000 times, so it is important that you make sure your information is complete. To learn how to do this watch this straight forward video on updating your business information, expanding your online listing, and publishing it to the chamber's web directory.  You get a 200 word business description, photos, and links to your own website, so be sure to watch this video and expand your listing to get maximum benefit.  You can even change your map listing coordinates to be sure people can find your place of business when using a GPS.  And maybe best of all, there is no additional cost to members for this service.

What's YOUR big idea?

The Muskingum County Business Incubator (MCBI) has introduced the 2010 Invention and Innovation Big Idea Contest. $1000 in cash and services will be awarded to winners in each county. A panel of judges will identify the top entry in each of the counties served by MCBI, and they will then  move on to the Regional Contest where the stakes are higher. The Big Idea Contest is designed to encourage new and existing businesses and prospective entrepreneurs with an innovative idea or invention to compete for cash and business services to help launch their idea. Go to MCBI.info for more information.
