The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the 32nd annual Festival of Trees auction on Friday, December 6th from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Listen live on AM1240, Whiznews.com or plan to attend the auction in-person at the Zanesville Muskingum County Welcome Center! This notable auction would not be possible without the generous support of the community.
Bidding Instructions:
- Bid on over 180 holiday entries and incentives donated by local businesses, restaurants, recreation destinations, and non-profits organization from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Listen live on AM1240 and Bid by calling 740-450-1990 or join us in-person at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Welcome Center located at 205 North 5th Street in Downtown Zanesville.
- The minimum bid is set to $5 increments.
- Winners will be contacted with a phone call after each 15-minute auction segment.
- Winners may pick up their auction items on Saturday, December 7th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or Monday, December 9th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Description: Ron Cole has depicted the famous Budweiser Clydesdales as they would have appeared in 1935, crossing our famous Y-Bridge with the old downtown in the background. Prohibition had just ended, and Budweiser created this team of horses to travel across the country, delivering cases of beer to politicians who'd supported the repeal, starting with a case delivered to Franklin D. Roosevelt at the White House.
This was a classic period for downtown Zanesville, after the 1913 flood. The Y-Bridge had been uncovered and electrified, but the trollies still shared the bridge with motor traffic. The eastern span onto Main Street was broken by a vast elevator over the canal that raised the entire street into the sky to permit traversing vessels. The mills, power station, and water tower did not long last into history. The Christmas decorations depicted on the bridge are actually correct for the City of Zanesville in 1935. Incentive: Ron's incentive is an 11 X 17 relic display of this same piece that includes a vintage Anheuser Busch bottle cap. These bottle caps are the correct style used by the company between 1935 and 1942. They are made of steel and utilize a thin layer of cork and foil to create a seal with the bottle.
